It is generally recommended to take this medicine on an empty stomach, as food and certain fruit juices (particularly grapefruit juice) may reduce its absorption and effectiveness. Always follow the instructions provided by your doctor or pharmacist, and do not take more than the recommended dose.

Bilaxten 10 mg orodispersible tablets are indicated in children aged 2 to 11 years.with a body weight of at least 15 kg.

Children: The recommended dose in children 2 to 11 years of age with a body weight of at least 15 kg is 10 mg bilastine (1 orodispersible tablet) once daily for the relief of symptoms of allergic rhino-conjunctivitis and urticaria.

The orodispersible tablet is for oral use. Please place the orodispersible tablet in the mouth of your child. It will disperse rapidly in saliva and can then be easily swallowed. Alternatively, the orodispersible tablet may be dispersed in water before administration to reduce the risk of choking or aspiration in children. It has to be ensured that no rest of sediment remains in the spoon. You should use exclusively water for dispersion, do not use grapefruit juice or any other fruit juices.

Adults: For adults, including elderly and adolescents aged 12 years and over, the recommended dose is 20 mg bilastine once daily. For this patient population a more appropriate dosage form – tablets- is available, ask your doctor.

Bilaxten Orodispersible 10mg Tablets typically has a shelf life of 3 years from the date of manufacture when stored under the recommended conditions. Always check the expiry date printed on the packaging before use, and do not take the tablets if the expiry date has passed, even if the product appears unchanged.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

Keep the tablets in their original blister packaging until the moment of use to protect them from humidity, as orodispersible tablets can be sensitive to moisture.

Store out of sight and reach of children at all times.

Do not store in the bathroom, near a sink, or in any area exposed to heat or steam.
