Overview

Cosopt 2%/0.5% Eye Drops is a prescription-only medicine (POM) that contains Dorzolamide 2% (as dorzolamide hydrochloride) and Timolol 0.5% (as timolol maleate). It is supplied as eye drops and is dispensed in Malaysia only against a valid prescription issued by a registered doctor.

Under Malaysian rules for prescription medicines, this page carries product, safety and handling information only. Your doctor or pharmacist will explain whether this medicine is suitable for you, the dose you should take, and how long you should take it.

On DoctorOnCall, Cosopt 2%/0.5% Eye Drops is reviewed by a licensed doctor through an online consultation and dispensed by a registered pharmacist before delivery. Always follow the instructions on your prescription label and the package insert supplied with the product, and do not share this medicine with anyone else.

Directions for Use

Wash your hands before use. Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket, and instil one drop of Cosopt 2%/0.5% Eye Drops without letting the dropper tip touch your eye or any other surface. Apply gentle pressure to the inner corner of the eye for about 1 minute after instillation to reduce systemic absorption. If you use other eye drops, wait at least 10 minutes between different products. Remove soft contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Dosage

The usual dose of Cosopt 2%/0.5% Eye Drops is one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart, unless your doctor has directed otherwise. Your doctor will confirm the correct dosing schedule for your condition and will monitor your eye pressure regularly to assess your response.
