Duopharma Insugen-N 30/70 (100IU/ml) Cartridge

Duopharma Insugen-N 30/70 (100IU/ml) Cartridge is a premixed biphasic human insulin 100IU/ml cartridge, containing 30% soluble (regular) human insulin and 70% isophane (NPH) human insulin. This product is manufactured by Biocon and marketed by Duopharma as the Insugen-N brand of premixed insulin. It is used to help control blood glucose levels in people with diabetes who require insulin therapy, combining a fast-acting and an intermediate-acting component in a single injection.

The soluble portion starts working soon after injection to cover the rise in blood glucose after a meal, while the isophane portion is absorbed more slowly to provide a longer background level of insulin action between meals.

The soluble (regular) component of this premixed insulin acts quickly to lower the rise in blood glucose that follows a meal, while the isophane (NPH) component is absorbed gradually, providing a steadier background level of insulin action over several hours. Together, they help cover both mealtime and between-meal blood glucose needs from a single injection.

Before use, gently roll the Duopharma Insugen-N 30/70 (100IU/ml) Cartridge cartridge between your palms and invert it several times to re-suspend the cloudy mixture evenly – do not shake it vigorously, as this can create air bubbles and affect dosing accuracy. Inject it subcutaneously (under the skin) into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm before a meal, according to the regimen your doctor has set, and rotate the injection site with each dose.

The dose of Duopharma Insugen-N 30/70 (100IU/ml) Cartridge is individualised by your doctor based on your blood glucose readings, diet, activity level, and overall diabetes management plan. It is usually injected once or twice daily before meals, as directed by your doctor. Never change your dose without medical guidance.

Use this product before the expiry date stated on the packaging. Do not use the medicine if the expiry date has passed.

Store unopened cartridges in a refrigerator (2-8°C). Do not freeze. Once a cartridge is in use, store it as directed in the product leaflet, away from direct heat and sunlight, and discard it after the in-use period stated in the leaflet. Always check the leaflet for the exact in-use storage duration.

• Known hypersensitivity to this insulin or any ingredient in this product
• Episodes of hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) that have not been resolved
• Use with caution and close monitoring in patients with impaired kidney or liver function

• Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycaemia, especially if meals are delayed or skipped
• Beta-blockers may mask the warning symptoms of hypoglycaemia, such as a fast heartbeat
• Certain other medicines (e.g. some diuretics, corticosteroids) can raise blood glucose and require dose adjustment
• Other diabetes medicines used together may increase the risk of hypoglycaemia

• Gently roll and invert the cartridge before use – never shake it vigorously
• Inject before a meal according to your doctor’s regimen, as this insulin has a fast-acting component
• Always carry a fast-acting sugar source in case of hypoglycaemia
• Never share insulin pens or cartridges with another person, even with a new needle, due to infection risk
• Rotate your injection sites regularly to help prevent skin changes
• Store unopened cartridges in the refrigerator, and follow the leaflet’s guidance for the in-use cartridge
