Directions for Use

Swallow Lomodium 2mg Capsule whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food. Continue to drink plenty of fluids, and consider oral rehydration solutions, throughout an episode of diarrhoea to prevent dehydration, especially in hot climates or with frequent watery stools.

Dosage

For acute diarrhoea in adults, the usual starting dose is 2 capsules (4mg) taken initially, followed by 1 capsule (2mg) after each subsequent loose stool, up to a maximum of 8 capsules (16mg) in 24 hours. Do not use for more than 48 hours without consulting a doctor, and stop use once stools return to normal or no bowel movement occurs for 12 hours.

Storage Instructions

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the capsules in their original blister packaging until ready to use, and keep out of reach of children.

Relevant Information

Lomodium 2mg Capsule is a widely used over-the-counter anti-diarrhoeal medicine in Malaysia, valued for its convenience in managing acute, uncomplicated diarrhoea, including travellers’ diarrhoea. It is not a substitute for treating the underlying cause of diarrhoea, and individuals with severe symptoms, blood in the stool, high fever, or diarrhoea lasting more than two days should seek prompt medical advice rather than relying on symptomatic treatment alone.
