Overview

Perozin Cream is a natural-formula topical rub made from a blend of menthol, eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, lavandula (lavender) oil, and camphor in a cream base intended for external application to the skin. It is distributed in Malaysia by Pharmaniaga and has long been sold as an everyday household cream across Malaysian pharmacies and provision stores.

The product is classified as an OTC (Over-the-Counter) external topical preparation, meaning it can be purchased directly from a pharmacy without a doctor’s prescription. Unlike single-ingredient menthol or camphor rubs, Perozin Cream combines five aromatic plant-derived ingredients in one formulation, and it is marketed by some Malaysian retailers as an everyday cooling cream suitable for the whole family.

Perozin Cream is sold in a 100ml tube, a size intended for regular repeat use at home, and its cream base is designed to spread easily over the skin and absorb without an overly greasy residue, distinguishing it from oil- or gel-based topical rubs in the same general category.

Directions for Use

Apply a thin layer of Perozin Cream to clean, dry, unbroken skin and massage gently until absorbed. Apply only to the intended area and avoid the eyes, nose, mouth, and other mucous membranes. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after application unless the treated area is the hands themselves, and avoid touching your eyes or face until you have washed your hands.

Dosage

Perozin Cream is an external topical cream rather than an oral medicine, so there is no oral dose to follow. As a general guide, it may be applied to the affected area two to three times a day, or as directed on the product packaging. Do not exceed the frequency stated on the label, and stop use and seek pharmacist or medical advice if there is no improvement after a few days, or if skin irritation develops. Use in young children should follow the age guidance printed on the packaging, with a pharmacist consulted beforehand given the camphor content.

Shelf Life

Use Perozin Cream before the expiry date printed on the tube and outer packaging. Once opened, try to use the tube within the period recommended on the packaging, as the potency of its volatile essential-oil ingredients may reduce gradually with repeated opening.

Storage Instructions

Store Perozin Cream at room temperature below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep the tube tightly capped after each use, and store it out of the reach and sight of children given its camphor and essential-oil content.

Side Effects

  • Common: A cooling or warming tingling sensation on the skin at the site of application.
  • Common: Temporary skin redness or a noticeable herbal/menthol odour on the skin.
  • Common: Mild stinging if applied to sensitive or recently shaved skin.
  • Serious: Allergic contact dermatitis with itching, rash, swelling, or blistering, which needs prompt medical attention if it occurs.
  • Serious: Signs of camphor toxicity such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or breathing difficulty if the product is accidentally swallowed, which requires emergency medical care.

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity or allergy to menthol, eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, lavender oil, camphor, or any other ingredient in the formulation.
  • Application to broken, cut, or infected skin, open wounds, or areas of severe irritation.
  • Application near or in the eyes, inside the nose or mouth, or on other mucous membranes.
  • Use in infants and very young children below the age stated on the product packaging without pharmacist or doctor guidance, given the camphor content.
  • Oral ingestion of the product under any circumstances, as it is for external use only.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically significant drug or food interactions are expected with normal external use of Perozin Cream, as it is applied to the skin rather than taken by mouth.
  • Avoid applying this cream to the same area at the same time as other topical menthol, camphor, or essential-oil-based products, as this may increase the risk of skin irritation.
  • Avoid using a heating pad, hot compress, or tight bandage over a freshly treated area, as this can intensify skin irritation and alter how the product is absorbed.

Quick Tips

  • Do a small patch test on an unaffected area of skin before first use if you have sensitive skin.
  • Apply a thin layer rather than a thick one, as a little goes a long way with essential-oil creams.
  • Wash your hands right after application, especially before touching your eyes or contact lenses.
  • Keep the tube cap tightly closed between uses to preserve the fragrance and texture.
  • Avoid applying the cream right before a hot shower, as heat can intensify the tingling sensation.
  • Check the batch number and expiry date on the packaging before each purchase.

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

Perozin Cream is made using a natural blend of ingredients designed to soothe and support mobility. It contains menthol, eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, lavandula oil, and camphor—each known for their cooling and pain-relieving properties. Combined, these ingredients work to create a refreshing sensation that eases discomfort while promoting circulation in the affected area.

Relevant Information

Precautions: Use Perozin Cream on intact skin only and avoid contact with the eyes, nose, mouth, and other mucous membranes. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, young children, and people with sensitive or broken skin should check with a pharmacist before use, particularly given the camphor content. Avoid applying the cream immediately before or after a hot shower, or using it together with a heating pad, as this may increase skin irritation.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Stop using the product and seek medical advice if you develop a skin rash, blistering, severe redness, or persistent irritation after application, or if the cream is accidentally swallowed or gets into the eyes. Speak with a pharmacist if there is no improvement in your symptoms after a few days of use, or if you are uncertain whether the product is appropriate for you.
