Shake the bottle well before each use, as the active ingredients settle at the bottom of the suspension. Apply a thin layer of the lotion to the affected area using clean hands or a clean cotton pad – rubbing is not necessary. Allow the lotion to dry naturally on the skin rather than wiping it off. Apply 2-3 times daily, or as needed, to itchy or irritated areas. Avoid applying to broken skin, open wounds, or deeply infected weeping areas, and avoid contact with the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Not applicable in the conventional sense, as this is a topical suspension for external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2-3 times daily, or as needed depending on the severity of the irritation, or as advised by a healthcare professional.

Use before the expiry date printed on the packaging. As a suspension, some separation of ingredients on standing is normal and is corrected by shaking well before use; discard if the lotion develops an unusual odour or appearance.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly capped between uses and shake well before each application, as settling on standing is a normal characteristic of this type of suspension.

• Common: Mild, temporary tightness or drying sensation on the skin as the lotion dries.
• Common: Slight whitish residue or flaking on the skin if applied too thickly.

• Serious: Worsening redness, swelling, or a spreading rash, which may indicate an allergic reaction or contact sensitivity and requires stopping use and seeking advice.
• Serious: Signs of skin infection at the site of application, such as increasing pain, warmth, or pus, which need medical assessment.

• Do not apply to broken skin, deep wounds, or areas with active infection without checking with a doctor or pharmacist first.
• Do not use in individuals with known hypersensitivity to calamine, zinc oxide, or any other ingredient in the lotion.
• Avoid applying to large areas of weeping or infected chickenpox spots without medical advice, as this may need a different form of treatment.
• Not for internal use or ingestion.
• Avoid contact with the eyes and other mucous membranes.

• No clinically significant drug or food interactions are known for Prime Calamine Lotion when used as directed for external topical use.
• Avoid applying other topical creams, ointments, or lotions to the same area at the same time, as layering products may reduce the calamine lotion’s cooling and drying effect or increase irritation.

Prime Calamine Lotion is not a treatment for the underlying cause of a rash or skin condition. If a rash does not improve, spreads, or is accompanied by other symptoms, further assessment is recommended.

Precautions: Use with care in young children and avoid applying near the eyes, nose, and mouth. If applying to broken or weeping areas of skin, use sparingly and avoid covering large areas with a thick layer, as this can trap heat and moisture. Discontinue use if irritation worsens.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Seek advice if the rash or itching does not improve within a few days, spreads rapidly, is accompanied by fever or signs of infection, or if you notice signs of an allergic reaction such as increasing swelling, blistering, or difficulty breathing after use.
