Overview

Sunward Sunazol Cream is a cream with Ketoconazole declared as its active content. It is supplied in a pack size of 15g.

This is a non-prescription product and can be purchased without a prescription. Only product, safety and handling details are published on this page.

An online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor or pharmacist is available for this product, and a registered pharmacist reviews each order before dispatch to Malaysia or Singapore. Follow the directions on the label and on the leaflet inside the pack.

Directions for Use

Wash and thoroughly dry the affected area before use, then apply a thin layer of the cream to cover the affected skin and a small margin of the surrounding healthy skin, gently rubbing it in once or twice daily as directed on the label or by a doctor or pharmacist. Wash your hands after application unless the hands are the area being treated, and continue treatment for the full recommended duration even if symptoms improve earlier.

Dosage

The usual application is a thin layer applied once daily for most tinea infections and pityriasis versicolor, or twice daily for some yeast infections, for a course typically lasting 2 to 4 weeks depending on the condition and its severity. Do not stop treatment early just because visible symptoms have resolved, as the fungus may still be present under the skin surface, so always follow the specific duration advised for your condition.

Shelf Life

Sunward Sunazol Cream is generally stable for up to 2 to 3 years from the date of manufacture when unopened; once opened, it is best used within the period stated on the packaging. Always check the expiry date and discard the cream if it separates, changes colour, or develops an unusual odour.

Storage Instructions

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep the tube tightly capped after each use. Keep out of reach of children and avoid storing in humid areas such as the bathroom.

Side Effects

  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Itching or skin rash (when applied topically)
  • Abnormal liver function tests
  • Hair thinning (topical use)

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or any other ingredient in the cream
  • Application to broken, severely inflamed, or weeping skin without medical advice
  • Use near the eyes, or inside the mouth, nose, or vagina unless the product is specifically labelled for that use
  • Use on infants without a doctor’s guidance

Drug / Food Interactions

  • Other topical corticosteroid or antifungal creams applied to the same area, which should only be combined on medical advice
  • Concurrent use of strongly irritant skin products, such as strong exfoliants, on the treated area
  • No significant food interactions are expected with topical use, as systemic absorption through intact skin is minimal

Quick Tips

  • Keep the affected area clean and dry between applications, as fungus thrives in moist environments
  • Wear breathable, loose-fitting clothing and change socks or underwear daily if treating athlete’s foot or jock itch
  • Avoid sharing towels, socks, or footwear to reduce the spread of fungal infection
  • Complete the full course of treatment even after symptoms clear to prevent recurrence
  • See a doctor if there is no improvement after 2 to 4 weeks or if the infection appears to be spreading

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

  • Ketoconazole
