Overview

Synerrv Irbemac Irbesartan 300mg Tablet contains irbesartan 300mg, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to help protect the kidneys in patients with type 2 diabetes and diabetic kidney disease.

Irbesartan works by blocking the AT1 receptor, preventing angiotensin II – a hormone that narrows blood vessels and raises blood pressure – from exerting its effects. This allows blood vessels to relax and widen, lowering blood pressure and reducing strain on the kidneys.

How it Works

By selectively blocking the AT1 angiotensin II receptor, irbesartan prevents angiotensin II from causing blood vessel constriction and sodium/fluid retention, resulting in vasodilation, lower blood pressure, and reduced pressure within the kidney’s filtering units.

Take Synerrv Irbemac Irbesartan 300mg Tablet once daily at about the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well, since high blood pressure often has no symptoms.

The usual adult dose is 150-300mg once daily, which your doctor will individualise based on your blood pressure response and, if applicable, your kidney function.
