Overview

Vivere 5% cream is supplied as a cream, with Acyclovir (aciclovir) 5%. It is supplied in a pack size of 5g.

No prescription is required for this product, as it is a non-prescription medicine. This page is limited to product, safety and handling information.

If you would like guidance before buying, you can speak to a doctor or pharmacist through an online consultation on DoctorOnCall. Orders are dispensed by a registered pharmacist and delivered to your address.

Directions for Use

Wash and dry your hands, then apply a small amount of Vivere 5% Cream to the affected area at the earliest sign of a cold sore, such as tingling or itching, and continue applying five times a day at roughly four-hourly intervals (skipping the night-time application) for four to five days. Wash your hands again after application to avoid spreading the virus to other areas of your face or to other people, and avoid sharing lip balm, cups or towels while a sore is present.

Dosage

The typical adult and adolescent dose is a thin application of Vivere 5% Cream to the affected lip or perioral area five times daily, about every four hours, for five consecutive days; if the cold sore has not healed by then, treatment should not simply be extended without checking with a pharmacist or doctor. Use in young children should be guided by a pharmacist or doctor.

Shelf Life

When stored correctly and unopened, Vivere 5% Cream is generally stable until the expiry date printed on the tube and carton; the expiry date should be checked before each use and expired cream should be discarded.

Storage Instructions

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep the tube tightly closed after each use to prevent it from drying out. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Side Effects

  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhoea
  • Joint or muscle pain
  • Fatigue or tiredness
  • Mild rash or skin reaction

Contraindications

  • Known allergy or hypersensitivity to acyclovir, valacyclovir, or any ingredient in the cream
  • Use inside the mouth, on the gums, or near the eyes
  • Genital herpes lesions, which need a doctor’s assessment rather than a lip-cream product
  • Individuals with significantly weakened immune systems, who should seek medical advice first

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically significant drug interactions are expected with normal topical use, as absorption into the bloodstream is minimal
  • Avoid applying other topical products to the same area at the same time, as this may dilute the cream or irritate already inflamed skin
  • Consult a pharmacist if you are using other prescribed topical or oral antiviral treatments

Quick Tips

  • Apply at the very first tingling or itching sensation for the best chance of stopping the sore from progressing
  • Use a clean cotton bud or washed fingertip to apply the cream to reduce the risk of spreading the virus
  • Do not share lip balm, cutlery, cups or towels while you have an active cold sore
  • Avoid kissing or close facial contact with others, especially babies and those who are immunocompromised, until the sore has healed
  • See a pharmacist or doctor if cold sores are frequent, severe, or do not improve within a few days of starting treatment

How long will delivery take?

Within Malaysia, standard delivery takes 3 to 5 working days. Same-day delivery is available in the Klang Valley for orders placed before 12pm; orders placed after 12pm arrive by the end of the next day.

Orders to Singapore are sent as international deliveries and take 5 to 9 working days. A lump-sum shipping and handling fee applies to every overseas delivery and is shown at checkout.

What payment methods can I use?

Customers in Malaysia can pay by FPX online banking, credit or debit card (Visa and Mastercard), and supported e-wallets including Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay and ShopeePay.

FPX and local e-wallets are tied to Malaysian bank and wallet accounts, so if your delivery address is in Singapore, use the payment options displayed at checkout for that address rather than assuming the same list applies.

Can Vivere 5% cream be delivered to Singapore?

Yes. DoctorOnCall ships to Singapore as an international order dispatched from Malaysia, arriving in 5 to 9 working days with a lump-sum shipping and handling fee.

Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) allows personal imports of up to three months’ supply of a medicine for your own use or an immediate family member’s, as long as it contains no controlled drugs, psychotropic substances or prohibited items. Keep the product in its original labelled packaging and keep a copy of your prescription or doctor’s letter with it. Quantities above three months’ supply, and medicines containing controlled substances, require prior HSA approval.

Is Vivere 5% cream registered with the authorities?

Products listed on DoctorOnCall are registered with Malaysia’s Ministry of Health for supply in Malaysia, and each pack carries its MAL registration number.

An order delivered to Singapore arrives as a personal import of a Malaysia-registered product; HSA product registration is not required for personal-use quantities, but it is also not the same as a product registered for sale in Singapore. If you need a locally registered Singapore product, buy it from a pharmacy in Singapore.

Who do I contact if there is a problem with my order?

DoctorOnCall’s customer care team handles order, delivery and product queries through the contact channels on the site, including WhatsApp and the online help centre.

For deliveries to Singapore, allow more time before chasing an order than you would for a local Malaysian delivery, as the parcel passes through customs clearance and tracking updates can appear later in the journey.

Relevant Information

Cold sores are contagious from the moment tingling begins until the blister has fully crusted over and healed, so good hand hygiene and avoiding direct contact with others during this period is important. Vivere 5% Cream treats the current outbreak but does not cure the underlying herpes simplex virus, which remains dormant in the body and can reactivate; triggers such as sunlight, stress, fever, and hormonal changes can bring on future episodes, and keeping a small supply of cream on hand allows treatment to start as early as possible.
