Xepa Antamin 4mg Tablet is a widely used over-the-counter antihistamine containing chlorpheniramine maleate 4mg, a first-generation antihistamine trusted for decades to relieve the symptoms of allergies and the common cold in Malaysia. It works by blocking histamine, the chemical your body releases during an allergic response, helping to calm sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, itchy and watery eyes, and itchy skin.

This tablet is often used for seasonal allergies and hay fever, allergic rhinitis, skin allergies such as hives, mild reactions to insect bites, and allergy symptoms that accompany a cold. Because chlorpheniramine is a sedating, first-generation antihistamine, Xepa Antamin 4mg Tablet commonly causes drowsiness, making it a good choice for night-time use or for anyone who doesn’t need to stay alert, while remaining an effective and affordable everyday allergy remedy.

The active ingredient, chlorpheniramine maleate, blocks H1-histamine receptors throughout the body, preventing histamine from triggering the typical signs of allergy such as itching, swelling, sneezing, and excess mucus or tear production. Because it also acts on histamine receptors in the brain and has mild anticholinergic properties, it commonly produces a sedating effect alongside its antihistamine action.

Take Xepa Antamin 4mg Tablet by mouth with a glass of water, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole rather than crushing or chewing it, and do not take more than the recommended dose or frequency on the label or as advised by your pharmacist. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the tablet affects you, since it can cause noticeable drowsiness.

• Known allergy or hypersensitivity to chlorpheniramine or any ingredient in this tablet
• Narrow-angle glaucoma
• Severe prostate enlargement with urinary retention
• Acute or severe asthma attack
• Use of an MAOI within the last 14 days
• Newborn or premature infants

• Alcohol – heightens drowsiness
• Other sedating antihistamines, sleeping tablets, or anti-anxiety medicines – additive sedation
• MAOIs – can intensify anticholinergic effects
• Other anticholinergic medicines – increased dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, urinary retention
• CNS depressants such as opioids or muscle relaxants – increased drowsiness
• Other cold/flu/allergy products that already contain an antihistamine – avoid combining
