Overview

Yucomy 2% Cream is a cream with Miconazole nitrate 2% w/w declared as its active content. It is supplied in a pack size of 20g.

This is a non-prescription product and can be purchased without a prescription. Only product, safety and handling details are published on this page.

An online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor or pharmacist is available for this product, and a registered pharmacist reviews each order before dispatch to Malaysia or Singapore. Follow the directions on the label and on the leaflet inside the pack.

Directions for Use

Wash and dry the affected area thoroughly before applying. Apply a thin layer of Yucomy 2% Cream over the infected skin and a small surrounding margin, gently rubbing it in. Use twice daily, in the morning and evening, unless otherwise advised by a doctor or pharmacist, and wash your hands after each application unless the hands themselves are being treated. Complete the full recommended course of treatment even if the skin looks clear earlier, to help prevent the infection from returning.

Dosage

For most fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, and jock itch, apply Yucomy 2% Cream to the affected area twice daily for 2 to 4 weeks. For candidiasis of the skin, treatment is generally continued for about 2 to 3 weeks. It is advisable to continue applying the cream for a few days after the skin appears clear to reduce the risk of recurrence. If there is no improvement after 4 weeks of regular use, stop and seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist.

Shelf Life

Yucomy 2% Cream is valid for use up to the expiry date printed on the tube and outer carton when stored correctly and unopened. Check the expiry date before each use and discard the cream once it has expired or if it shows any change in colour, texture, or smell after opening.

Storage Instructions

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use, and avoid storing it in humid areas such as the bathroom. Do not freeze. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Side Effects

  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Itching or skin rash (when applied topically)
  • Abnormal liver function tests
  • Hair thinning (topical use)

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity or allergy to miconazole, other imidazole antifungals, or any ingredient in the cream
  • Not for use in or near the eyes
  • Not intended for use inside the mouth or on mucous membranes
  • Use with caution on broken, weeping, or heavily infected skin — seek pharmacist or doctor advice first
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
  • Not recommended for young infants without medical advice

Drug / Food Interactions

  • Topical miconazole has minimal absorption into the bloodstream, so significant drug interactions are uncommon with normal use over limited areas of skin
  • Avoid applying other topical creams, ointments, or cosmetics on the same area at the same time unless advised by a pharmacist
  • If used on large areas of skin or for prolonged periods, there is a theoretical risk of interaction with oral blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin — tell your pharmacist if you take these
  • No significant food interactions are expected with topical use

Quick Tips

  • Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly before each application
  • Apply consistently twice a day for the entire recommended course, even after symptoms improve
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing over the treated area to help keep the skin dry
  • Avoid sharing towels, clothing, or footwear while the infection is active
  • Wash hands before and after applying, unless treating the hands
  • See a doctor or pharmacist if the rash worsens, spreads, or does not improve after 4 weeks

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

  • Miconazole nitrate 2% w/w (active ingredient)
  • Cream base formulated for topical dermatological application
  • Emulsifying agents that give the cream its smooth, spreadable texture
  • Preservative system to maintain the product's stability during use
  • Purified water as the vehicle base
  • Other standard pharmaceutical excipients as formulated by the manufacturer

Relevant Information

Fungal skin infections are common in Malaysia’s warm, humid climate, especially in skin folds, between the toes, and other areas that stay damp from sweat. Good hygiene, keeping skin dry, and wearing breathable clothing can help prevent recurrence alongside treatment with Yucomy 2% Cream. If the infection involves the scalp or nails, covers a large area, or fails to respond to a full course of treatment, further assessment by a doctor may be necessary as oral antifungal treatment could be required.
