Overview

Xepa Ezede 10mg Tablet is a tablet with Cetirizine Dihydrochloride 10mg declared as its active content. It is supplied in a pack size of 10s.

This is a non-prescription product and can be purchased without a prescription. Only product, safety and handling details are published on this page.

An online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor or pharmacist is available for this product, and a registered pharmacist reviews each order before dispatch to Malaysia or Singapore. Follow the directions on the label and on the leaflet inside the pack.

Directions for Use

Take Xepa Ezede 10mg Tablet by mouth, usually once a day, with or without food, swallowed whole with a glass of water. Try to take it at around the same time each day for consistent symptom control, and avoid taking an extra tablet even if symptoms feel worse — speak to a pharmacist if one tablet daily is not controlling your allergies.

Dosage

The usual dose for adults and children aged 12 years and above is one 10mg tablet once daily. People with reduced kidney function may need a lower dose or less frequent dosing, as cetirizine is cleared mainly through the kidneys, so anyone with known kidney disease should check with a pharmacist or doctor before use. This tablet formulation is not suitable for young children who cannot swallow tablets safely — a liquid cetirizine formulation should be used instead for them.

Shelf Life

Xepa Ezede 10mg Tablet is generally stable for up to 36 months from the date of manufacture when unopened and stored correctly. Always check the expiry date printed on the packaging and do not use the tablet after this date.

Storage Instructions

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, keeping the tablets in their original blister strip until needed. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Side Effects

  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Sleepiness or fatigue (less common)
  • Gastrointestinal discomfort
  • Nervousness or dizziness (rare)

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or any piperazine derivative
  • Severe kidney impairment without appropriate dose adjustment
  • Not suitable for young children who cannot swallow a tablet safely
  • Not a treatment for anaphylaxis or a severe/emergency allergic reaction — seek emergency medical care instead

Drug / Food Interactions

  • Alcohol – may increase drowsiness, even though cetirizine is a lower-sedation antihistamine
  • Other sedating medicines – possible additive drowsiness
  • Theophylline – may slightly reduce clearance of cetirizine at high doses
  • Other antihistamines – avoid combining to prevent duplication and unnecessary side effects
  • No significant interaction with most common foods, though best avoided with alcohol

Quick Tips

  • Take at around the same time each day
  • Don’t double the dose if you miss one — just resume your normal schedule
  • Even though it’s a lower-drowsiness antihistamine, be cautious with driving until you know how it affects you
  • Suitable for regular daily use throughout an allergy season
  • Check with a pharmacist if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need adjusting
  • See a doctor if symptoms persist despite regular use, or if you notice signs of a severe allergic reaction

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

  • Cetirizine Dihydrochloride 10mg (active ingredient)
  • Microcrystalline cellulose (filler)
  • Colloidal silicon dioxide (glidant)
  • Magnesium stearate (lubricant)

Relevant Information

Xepa Ezede 10mg Tablet is a second-generation antihistamine well suited to people who want reliable, once-daily allergy relief without the marked sedation of older antihistamines. It should be used with caution and at an adjusted dose in people with significant kidney impairment, and pregnant or breastfeeding women, the elderly, and those with kidney disease should seek pharmacist or doctor advice before starting it. If allergy symptoms are severe, persistent despite regular use, or accompanied by breathing difficulty or facial swelling, seek prompt medical attention rather than relying on this tablet alone.
