Because this medication may induce weight gain, you should eat a well-balanced diet and exercise on a regular basis. Because Piracetam may alter platelet aggregation, tell your doctor if you have any bleeding issues or are on any blood-thinning medicines.
How To Use Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s. Alcohol intoxication can increase the risk of lactic acidosis particularly in case of fasting, malnutrition or hepatic impairment.The interaction of alcohol and Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s have not been studied specifically. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol with Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s as risks cannot be excluded.
Pregnancy Warning (Maybe Safe)
Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s should be safe to use during pregnancy because either animal or human studies have not shown any adverse effects on the fetus, however, uncontrolled hyperglycemia in people with PCOS can increase the risk of congenital abnormalities and intrauterine death. Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities at high doses but there are no data on the use of Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s in pregnant women. Thus, it is not advisable to be used unless clearly indicated. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
Limited human studies suggest that Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s does not represent a significant risk to the baby when used during pregnancy. In regards to limited data, please consult your doctor to decide on discontinuation of breastfeeding or Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s.Excretion of Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s has been found in animal milk but it is unknown in human breast milk. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

Kidney Warning (High Risk)
Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease, especially in patients with creatinine clearance less than 60mL/min. Patients with severe kidney disease has high risk to get lactic acidosis. Dose adjustment of Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s and regular check up to monitor renal function may be needed. Please consult your doctor before consumption.Dose adjustment is needed in patients with moderate to severe kidney impairment. Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s is contraindicated in patients with end-stage kidney disease on hemodialysis.
Liver Warning (Limited Data)
Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s should be used with caution in patients with liver disease due to increased risk of lactic acidosis. Hence liver function test should be done before initiating Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s. Discontinuation of Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s may be needed if there is deterioration of liver function. Please consult your doctor. Caution use has to be practised in patients with moderate liver impairment. Kombiglyze XR 5mg/1000mg Tablet 28s is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment.
