Overview

Gofen 400mg Capsule is a capsule with Ibuprofen 400mg declared as its active content. It is supplied in a pack size of 10s.

This is a non-prescription product and can be purchased without a prescription. Only product, safety and handling details are published on this page.

An online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor or pharmacist is available for this product, and a registered pharmacist reviews each order before dispatch to Malaysia or Singapore. Follow the directions on the label and on the leaflet inside the pack.

Directions for Use

Gofen 400mg Capsule should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water, preferably with or after food or milk to reduce the risk of stomach upset. It should be taken at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration needed to control symptoms, and the capsule should not be crushed, chewed, or opened before swallowing.

Dosage

The usual adult dose is one 400mg capsule taken every 6 to 8 hours as needed for pain or fever, up to a maximum of 1200mg (three capsules) in 24 hours unless a pharmacist or doctor advises otherwise. Gofen is not recommended for children under 12 years old or for individuals under 40kg without professional guidance, and the lowest effective dose should always be used for the shortest possible time.

Storage Instructions

Store Gofen 400mg Capsule below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, and keep it in its original packaging out of the reach and sight of children.

Relevant Information

Gofen 400mg Capsule is a Poison List C medicine in Malaysia, which means it is dispensed over the counter by a registered pharmacist rather than requiring a doctor’s prescription. Pharmacist counselling helps ensure the medicine is suitable, particularly for individuals with existing stomach, heart, kidney, or liver conditions, or those taking other regular medications.

Patients using ibuprofen for more than a few days for ongoing pain or fever should follow up with a doctor to identify the underlying cause, as NSAIDs are intended for short-term symptom relief rather than long-term use without medical supervision.
