How To Use Mucoprom Syrup

This medicine is for oral use only. Shake the bottle well before use. Measure it with the measuring spoon given and take it by mouth.

Precautionary Steps of Mucoprom Syrup

Please consult a doctor especially before taking Mucoprom. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
  • Allergy to Mucoprom or any of its components
  • Hypersensitivity to Mucoprom or any of its components
  • Asthma or other breathing problems
  • Elderly with orthostatic hypotension, dizziness and fatigue, constipation
  • Liver, renal or cardiac disease
  • Glaucoma
  • History of problems with the white blood cells
  • Gastrointestinal problems - Ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux
  • It is not recommended for children below 2 years old & neonates. Please keep it out of reach from them.
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

Please stop using this medication if you are experiencing these symptoms and conditions.

 
Mucoprom Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Mucoprom varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
  • Alcohol
  • Sultopride (antipsychotic)
  • CNS depressants (sedatives, barbiturates, clonidine, hypnotics)

This is an incomprehensive list of drug-to-drug interactions and conditions that might interfere with Mucoprom function. Do inform your doctor about all your current medications prior to consuming this drug. 

Keep the following precautions in mind as well:-
  • Avoid excess exposure to sunlight
  • Store in cool area below 25 degrees Celcius
  • Keep away from reach of children
  • Avoid this medicine for a longer use
  • Alcohol might affect your liver if it is taken with this medication
  • Tell your doctor if you have any other diseases or if you are taking any other medication
  • Do not discontinue the prescribed course


Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
There is no known interaction of Mucoprom Syrup with alcohol.It is not advisable to drink alcohol with Mucoprom Syrup as it enhances the CNS effects of the Alcohol.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Mucoprom Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy especially during 1st trimester. The benefits from the use of Mucoprom Syrup in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.Mucoprom Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown side effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)
Mucoprom Syrup is probably safe to use during lactation. It is not known if Mucoprom Syrup is excreted in human breast milk. Please consult your doctor before using it.Mucoprom Syrup is shown to be excreted in breast milk. It is not advisable for women to breastfeed while consuming Mucoprom Syrup because of its potential adverse drug effects on infants.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
Mucoprom Syrup usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Mucoprom Syrup may cause side effects such as marked drowsiness which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

1. What should I do when I missed a dose of Mucoprom?

If you have missed a dose by chance, try to consume it as soon as possible when you notice. If the time to your next dosage is close, simply skip the medicine. In such cases, try to not double the dosage. 


2. I  think I have accidentally overdosed from the prescribed quantity of Mucoprom. Do I need to see a doctor?

If you feel that you might have used more than the prescribed quantity of Mucoprom, please talk to a physician immediately as overdosage more than the prescribed quantity might lead to undesirable side-effects. 


3. Am I allowed to drink alcohol after taking Mucoprom?

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended with Mucoprom. The resulting interaction between this medication with alcohol may cause excessive drowsiness and dizziness and also it might raise the risk of side effects occurrence. In any case, do not consume more than 90 mL a day.


4. Will the consumption of Mucoprom affect the child that I am bearing?

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women. It is only indicated when prescribed by the doctor out of necessity. You’re advised to consult an obstetrician for detailed information before start consuming this drug. Pregnant women can weigh the pros and cons of the drug with the help of a doctor before it is used.


5. I am currently nursing my baby. Is it safe to use Mucoprom during breastfeeding or lactation?

This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. You’re advised to consult an obstetrician for detailed information before start consuming this drug. Lactating mother can weigh the pros and cons of the drug with the help of a doctor before it is used.


6. Am I able to drive when I consume  Mucoprom?

Not recommended. Mucoprom might make you feel drowsy and dizzy. It can also impair thinking temporarily. It is considered unsafe to drive when you feel such symptoms.


7. Does Mucoprom have an addictive property?

This product is not addictive. Addictive medicines will be classified in schedule 2-5 in the US and schedule X or H in India. Please refer to the information on the package carefully.


8. What should I do if I mistakenly took an expired dose of Mucoprom?

Consuming an expired dose of Mucoprom by accident might not be harmful but do consult your physician for advice just to be safe in this matter. 


9. Does Mucoprom treat the common cold or allergies?

Not really. It only helps to provide relief from the symptoms caused by these conditions. 


10. Is it alright to use nutritional supplements such as Zincovit, D-rise 60k along with 
Mucoprom?

Yes, Mucoprom can be taken with supplements. But, it is advisable for you to inform your physician about all the current medications as well supplements that you are currently taking before using this medicine.


11. Can you explain on the safety of the usage of Mucoprom?

Mucoprom is safe to use if taken in the prescribed dosage as suggested by the physician.


12. Do I have to gradually reduce the dosage of Mucoprom or can it be stopped abruptly? 

There are some drugs that cannot be stopped immediately as it can have some withdrawal symptoms. Consult with your doctor regarding the usage of the medication as well as withdrawal symptoms, if any.


13. In a day, how many times should I take Mucoprom?

The dosage and frequency of Mucoprom is based on your condition. Use the drug as instructed by your doctor. You can also follow the instruction that has been printed on the product insert.

DoctorOnCall reserves the right to reject the request for return and/ or exchange if not notified by the Customer within one (1) day of receiving the product.
  4. The Customer will be contacted by DoctorOnCall within one (1) day of request for return and/ or exchange to inform the Customer of the return and/ or exchange process.
  5. Upon approval of the Return and/ or Exchange request, the Customer is to deliver the affected Product back to the address of the vendor as stated on the parcel received
  6. The affected Products MUST be returned in its new, unused, original condition, with quantity and packaging was delivered to Customer.
  7. For rehab products, wheelchairs, electronic products, and medical devices, all products must be returned in its original packaging with cables, accessories, and documentations including manuals and warranty card intact.
  8. Failure to return the Product as described in clause 6 and 7 will result in a cancellation of the return and/ or exchange request, and any fees incurred in delivering the package back to the Customer will be borne by the Customer
  9. The return of a Product by a Customer does not automatically warrant for an exchange or refund. DoctorOnCall will inspect the returned Products upon receipt of the same. If the conditions in clause No. 6 and 7 of this Return and/ or Exchange Policy have been fulfilled, refunds/ exchanges will be made to the Customer, and the Customer will be reimbursed by DoctorOnCall for any courier charges incurred in returning of the Products. A courier payment slip is to be furnished to DoctorOnCall for the purpose of reimbursement.
  10. All replacements or exchange of Products shall be effected subject to stock availability. If a Product which was ordered and invoiced is not included in the delivery, DoctorOnCall shall either refund the Customer the value of that Product, or replace the ordered Product.
  11. If any Product which was not included in the Customer's Order is delivered to the Customer, DoctorOnCall shall collect the Product from the Customer. If a Customer is charged more than the value of a Product as displayed on the site when the Customer makes its Order, DoctorOnCall shall refund to the Customer the difference.
  12. All refunds will be made via the same mode of payment within 2 months. Customer's receipt of the refund will depend on the period of time the selected financial institution takes to finalise the refund. DoctorOnCall shall not be liable with respect to any loss, damage, cost or expense that the Customer or any person may incur as a result of any delay in the financial institution processing of the said refund.
