How Indapamide Works

Indapamide works by interfering with the transport of sodium ions across the renal tubules hence enhancing the excretion of sodium, chloride and water.

Indapamide Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is not advisable to consume alcohol with Indapamide. Taking Indapamide with alcohol may enhance the orthostatic effect of Indapamide.

Pregnancy Maybe Safe

Indapamide may be safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have failed to show adverse effects on the fetus. However, there are limited well-controlled human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Limited Data

Indapamide must be used with caution during lactation as it is excreted in human milk. Limited human data suggests that Indapamide does not represent a significant risk to the baby. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Not advisable

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Indapamide may cause side effects such as dizziness, tiredness or palpitations, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney High Risk

Indapamide must be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Indapamide may be needed. It is contraindicated in patients with anuria. Please consult your doctor.
