Male Pattern Baldness on Man (Age: 27 years old)
Hello Dr. May I ask whether the use of finasteride/propecia pills/tablets of 1mg with KKM approval are safe to consume daily for Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) problem? Are there any reports on bad side effects such as sexual dysfunction/problems or mental illness reported by patients after consuming the finasteride pills daily?
I am very confused right now whether I want to take the risk on consuming the pills.
Is it worth the risk for me to take the pills to treat my MPB even though there is a small chance for me to experience the reported bad side effects? Thank you Dr.

Finasteride Propecia is used to treat hair fall problem. Common side effects may include:
- loss of interest in sex;
- impotence;
- trouble having an orgasm; or
- abnormal ejaculation.
The sexual side effects of finasteride may continue after you stop taking this medicine. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about these side effects. Thus, close monitorin is needed when taking this medication.
