Introduction of OneTouch Ultra Soft Lancet 100s
Lancet is used for blood sampling. OneTouch UltraSoft sterile lancets are compatible with the OneTouch Ultra and OneTouch InDuo blood glucose monitors. UltraSoft lancets have a small tip that allows for less painful testing penetration.
Benefits
OneTouch UltraSoft lancets only require a small amount of blood, so you don't have to go deep when drawing blood. Therefore, it is less painful.
How To Use OneTouch Ultra Soft Lancet 100s
Place the lancet platform against the sample site and gently press it against it. Then, push the site trigger button to penetrate the skin with the needle.
A lancet is a medical device that contains a small needle and are fitted with a spring for use. Lancets are usually disposable or may come in a device that can hold multiple disposable lancets. They are suitable to use for the blood sample needed to obtain a small amount of capillary blood on the tip of the fingers for various fingerprick tests for glucose, ketone, cholesterol etc..
Because lancets contain a needle, it must be appropriately disposed off after each use. Here are some tips for correct disposal methods:
Never dispose lancets or other sharp items like syringes into the regular trash.
If possible, seek advise from your healthcare provider on the possibilities of obtaining a sharps bin for personal use.
Alternatively, prepare a strong, puncture-resistant plastic bag or a sealable disposable container like a used can to store the used lancets.
It is advised to use a non-transparent container to prevent children from opening the container in curiosity.
