Gout Diet Plan and prevention ideas

I’m Aaron, age 29, male. I’ve gout attack in my ankle. I’ve never drink or smoke before. I’m living in KL past 9 years and having shop foods. I’m not a vegetable consumer. Eat a lot of red meats. Now i would like to control this probe and wanted relief from it. Yesterday, googled found gout patient can consume whole grain bread. but to me it doesn’t work. i need hear from doctor advise what should eat and avoid. for example, diet schedule, morning, evening, teatime, dinner what i can eat. hope hear from doctor soon. thanks

In managing gout, you will be generally advised to:

  • Reduce your intake of seafood (especially sardines, shelled foods, anchovies)
  • Reduce intake of red meat
  • Avoid processed foods such as canned foods, frozen food, fast foods.
  • Always aat balanced diet such as half part of whole grains of rice / carbohydrates, a quarter of side dishes / protein, a quarter of fruits and vegetables.
  • Minimal to no alcohol
  • Maintain hydration, drink at least 8 glasses a day
  • Avoid traumatic injuries or overuse in joints that are commonly attacked
