Hi, my father has beeb taking Vencid for the past couple of weeks but has said he now wants to switch to Controloc. Is it fine to switch between the 2? Both are actually 40mg Pantoprazole, so what is the difference?
Greetings! Thank you for your questions.
First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your father’s health. For your information, the contents of both medications are slightly different. Controloc contains Pantoprazole sodium, menawhile Vencid contains Pantoprazole. Before switching to Controloc, the contraindications should be noted;
Controloc 40 mg must not be used in combination treatment for eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with moderate to severe liver or kidney function disturbances since currently no clinical data are available on the efficacy and safety of Controloc 40 mg in combination treatment of these patients. Controloc 40 mg should generally not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the constituents of Controloc 40 mg or of the combination partners.
