Enquire on prenatal vitamins

Hi. I’m planning to get pregnant and I want to know about vitamins that I should be taking before pregnancy. I read about the importance of folic acid and that women planning for pregnancy should be taking it at least few months before conception. Is there a specific kind of folic acid i should be taking or the ones from blackmores is good ? Also, is there any more supplements I should be taking ? Thank you

Hi and thank you for asking us

Through the question and statement you gave on the above section, i completely understand your concern over this matter. For your information, 400mg of folic acid is needed daily before conception and 3 months afterwards. All vitamins and nutrients are important, but these nutrients are key roles for baby’s growth and development during pregnancy:

  • Iron.
  • Calcium.
  • Vitamin D.
  • DHA.
  • Iodine.

I strongly advise you to consult with a medical practitioner at a nearby clinic first before buying or taking any medications as a few more informations needs to be taken into account before you start taking those vitamins and supplements.

Pregnancy is a beautiful journey into motherhood. Make sure you get enough nutrients for you and your baby.
