Dengue vaccines have been available for a while now, but it came with restrictions that made its accessibility more limited for the general public. Dengvaxia, a dengue vaccine, requires the patient to have previously had dengue fever to use the vaccine. It has also not been approved for use in Malaysia.
Fortunately, a new kind of dengue vaccine, called Qdenga, has recently been approved in Malaysia. Not only does it not require the patient to have been previously infected, it also boasts a higher efficacy rating as compared to other dengue vaccines.
