Like all medicines, Lorista tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following undesirable effects have been reported:
Anapphylactic reactions, angioedema (including swelling of the larynx and glottis causing airway obstruction and/or swelling of the face, lips, pharynx and/or tongue), vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels
including Henoch-Schonlein purpura), cough, urticarial (itchy rash).
High potassium level, High uric acid level, Difficulty sleeping (insomnia), Dizziness, Somnolence, Palpitations, Chest pain, Vasodilation, Cough, Back pain, Fatigue
You are advised not to drink alcohol whilst taking these tablets: alcohol and Lorista tablets may increase each other's effects.
Dietary salt in excessive quantities may counteract the effect of Lorista tablets.
Please advise your doctor of any medications that you are currently taking to ensure Lorista is suitable for your consumption
Warning Precautions
Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s as there is a risk of additive effect such lowering blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rateIt is safe to consume alcohol with Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s. Consuming Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s With alcohol will not interfere with the way the medication works.
Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Both animal studies and human studies are insufficient to show adverse effects on the fetus. Pregnant women may use it if the benefits outweigh the risks. Please consult your doctor. Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans. It is contraindicated in 2nd and 3rd trimester pregnancy.
Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)
Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s is excreted in human milk. It also reduces milk production due to it diuresis effect.Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s is most likely safe to be used during lactation. There are limited data suggesting that the medication does not pose a significant risk to the baby. Please consult your doctor before use.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
The usage of Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s may impair general attention and affect the ability to drive as it can cause side effects such as dizziness, somnolence and palpitations.There are no studies of Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s on the effect of ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Kidney Warning (High Risk)
Dose adjustment is required in patients with kidney disease. In patients with severe renal function, use is not recommended. Please consult your doctor.Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s is contraindicated in patients with renal impairment (GFR <60 mL/min). Dose adjustment of Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s and monitoring of renal function is necessary. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Warning (Use With Care)
Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s should be used with caution in patients with liver disease as it may precipitate hepatic coma.Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment. Dose adjustment of Lorista H 50mg/12.5mg Tablet 28s is necessary. Please consult your doctor.
