Mental health concerns
Hello.
I have been struggling with depression (undiagnosed) for a while now. Part of the issue stems from my inability to focus on mundane tasks and a problem following through with work that I’ve already promised to people.
I can work hard and perform better than most people when it comes to things I enjoy (though even then, it goes at a slow pace). Most of the time I’m simply not meeting expectations. I have huge trouble handling conflict (even though this should be expected in a work environment). I often struggle with feelings of incompetence and it frustrates me.
I’ve considered looking for professional help, but from what I’ve read, I have to go through a general practitioner to be referred to a specialist in the first place. This has me anxious to take the first step. Even though they are likely already trained to deal with these scenarios, I worry that I’ll look like a fool and won’t be taken seriously.
Can you advise me on how I can approach this situation?

Thank you for your questions.
First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your symptoms and other health problems you might be facing. From your complaints, in order to receive consultation from specialist, you need to have a referral letter from general practitioner. Yes, this is true. Don’t worry because GP has been trained to screen for mental heath issues. They learn it as much as other condition but not in depth as a specialist. As a professional healthcare worker, they will not take you lightly and will refer you appropriately to a good specialist depending on your screening results. I would like to thank you for asking this question as most people who suffer from mental health would be reluctant to seek for medical help. Please do so and i can assure you they will not look at you like a fool as you are a patient that needs as much help as other medical condition.
