Allergic to aspirin during younger years can take astrazeneca vaccine?
I’m a 43yrs old woman and registered myself to take astrazeneca vaccination. When i was in my early twenties i had allergic tp aspirin and got my body swollen all over. And that is the only time it happened. At the same time it happened, i was taking piriton tablets for my skin problem(rashes due to cold or hot wheater) I’ve tried a spray containing aspirin recently and i didnt got swollen. my questions are;
- Does that means im no longer alllergic to aspirin?
- Can i proceed with the astrazeneca vaccine?

For your information, there are few conditions that will contraindicate vaccination which are
- those that experience severe allergies, anaphylaxis after receiving 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine (will not be advised to continue the second dose)
- those that have severe allergies, anaphylaxis to other vaccines, medication or other substance
You should consult your doctor or report to the vaccination centre if you have had a history of allergies and are unsure about the severity.
