  • Hi there and good morning. Im sorry to know that you are involved with yeast problems. First of all, it is always good to know know a little bit more about yeast infections itself. When you said you have recurrent yeast infections, I presume it was a vaginal yeast infections. Correct me if I wrong.

  • Vulvovaginal candidiasis or yeast infections refers to vulval and vaginal symptoms caused by a yeast, most often called as Candida albicans. It affects 75% of female on at least 1 occasion during a lifetime.
The grow of Candida infections cause many symptoms to the female patient such as white colour vaginal discharge, a burning sensation in the vagina or vulva, an itchy rash on the skin of vulva and surrounding skin surfaces as well.

  • Other terms used for vulvovaginal candidiasis are vaginal thrush, vaginal candidiasis or vulvovaginal candidiasis. There are few factors that can cause candida infections. The several factors such as antibiotics (it can decrease the amount of Lactobacillus which is a good bacteria located in the vagina), uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, weak immune system, pregnancy, poor eating habits, including a lot of sugary foods, stress or emotional changes, hormonal imbalance during your menstrual cycle and lack of sleep.

  • These yeast infections caused by candida albicans are usually easily treatable. If you are having recurring yeast infections as you said or problems getting rid of a candida infection with given treatment, then a different types of Candida species can be the cause of the infection. A laboratory test can identify what kind of Candida species that you have. Good luck!
