Post-appendectomy pain?

I completed an appendectomy one week ago, and I am experiencing pain on my left hip area today. I am wondering if the pain is related to the surgery. Please help me to understand better.

Presumably, it is normal to have post-operative pain, especially after having an operation with an incision to any parts of the body. However, to ensure the operation wound is healing progressively, you are advised to

  • continue taking the post-operative medication
  • don’t miss any post-operative appointment moving foward
  • ensure your hands are aseptic when trying to clean the wound (if doctor’s permission are given to do so)
  • always keep in check for any infection at the are of the wound
  • quickly seek a doctor help if
    • the pain is unbearable or increase in its intensity
    • an infection is detected
    • or delayed in healing occurs
