Recurrent greenish vaginal discharge after completed antibiotics course

Hi, I’m a 20years old female.
History:
I got my greenish vaginal discharge since 2014 and received treatment in end of December 2019. Dr prescribed Flagyl and a medicine that will pass out the discharge. He said it was anaerobic infection, (I often use panty liner since 2014)and advised me not to use panty liner anymore.
After completed the antibiotics course, I’ve recovered. Then after a few months, the greenish discharge is recurrent again. Then i got yeast infection in this year April/May and got treated.

After that I’m still having greenish discharge until now. I’ve seen doctor last 2 week regarding this issue and he prescribed Flagyl 400mg QID and doxymycin 100mg BD both for 1week. Now I’ve done the antibiotics course for 1week + and the greenish discharge is back again. Present itchiness. No fishy odour.

Not sexually active. No vaginal douching. Using feminine wash 2-3times per week. On supplement Proutix 1week ago as dr recommended.

May i know what should i do? Should i see gynaecologist?

We sincerely understand your concern with the discomfort. Generally these symptoms (itchiness and greenish discharge) can be caused by:

  • Bacterial or virus infection of the urogenital system

Specifically there could be numerous type of infections that exhibit similar symptoms, such as:

  • Trichomoniasis
  • Bacterial vaginosis

For your information, having repetitive infection could also be a subtle clue towards a serious condition, a few example would include:

  • Hormonal imbalances caused by estrogen and progesterones
  • Autoimmune diseases
