Hi, thank you for asking us a question.

We understand your curiosity and concern regarding whether it is safe for an Autoimmune Disease patient to take a COVID-19 vaccine. We will try to assist you in this matter.

As a matter of fact, COVID-19 vaccine is safe and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that the person with autoimmune disease may receive the vaccine and they acknowledge that there is no data available on the safety of the vaccine for the individuals with autoimmune diseases.

Back to the question, should Autoimmune Disease patients take the vaccine?
The answer is yes. But the patient needs to be evaluated further and a discussion with the doctor is highly encouraged so that the patient knows how the vaccine works and how the vaccine could protect them from complications of COVID-19 infection.
