Body temperature 37.5 but don’t feel like fever

Hi Doc! This few days my body temperature always 37.5 to 37.7. Since my mom just came back from norway, I’ve been advise to go screening for covid. But since my mom dont have any symptoms, we can’t proceed to check for me, as i dont have link for covid19.

So I’m wondering why my body temperature can be high as like I’m having a fever. But i dont feel like fever, because i feel really hot. And i keep on sweating. At 1st i have sore throats, but now okay already. No other symptoms beside high body temperature. Is it because of the weather? Because 37.5 is not normal body temperature. At home eventho i turn on the aircond, i can still feel my body heating up.

Would appreciate your assistance. As I’m not sure whats wrong with me. I already take covid assessment, I’m only minimal risk.

Hi and thank your for your question.

I understand that your mother have returned from Norway and have shown no symptoms of COVID-19 infection. According to our MOH protocol COVID-19 screening is indicated for the following scenarios:

  • Close contact with positive cases, with or without symptoms.
  • Symptomatic with travel history to high risk countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Italy and Iran.
  • Symptomatic with history of close contact with people confirmed with COVID-19 infection.

Thia test should also be an order from a doctor. In view of your symptom, it can be due to:

  • Viral fever
  • Dengue fever
  • Malaria
  • Lung infection
