Exposed to positive COVID-19 patients

Hi Doctor,

On last friday, i had diarrhea, went to toilet for 3 times and vommit 4 times. on the same day, my office announced that there are 7 people confirmed COVID-19 positive and one of the people i have a close contact with. so i did the rtk test and its negative. but the next day, suddenly i have a fever and my body was so aching especially my joint. then yesterday im back having a diarrhea, my stomach was so hurt and i have a bit difficulty breathing at night. my office told me to do another test which is the pcr test in clinic. i am worried because i heard sometimes the test still can’t detect the virus. i am unvaccinated due to medical reasons. I’m very scared to go back to office. is it possible to request self quarantine letter from doctor?

Hello and good morning.
Thank you for your question.

Based on your question, I understand that you are worried about your problem. I will try to help you.

The PCR test specifically detects the presence of the coronavirus virus within the body. It is currently used as a gold standard to examine if the body is infected by the COVID-19 virus.

Current guidelines require all symptomatic close contacts who have completed their booster dose to quarantine for 5 days and perform a self RTK-Ag test (rapid test) or approach any healthcare facility for evaluation.

I strongly encourage you to consult a doctor for proper testing and management of your symptoms. You can call in or visit your nearest CAC for further evaluation. Information can be found here.

You can also contact our doctor online for further information and management.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you.
