Brown discharge 10 days before period. never experience before this

hi doc, i noticed on 10th Oct 2020 that there is brown discharge 10 days before my period (expected on 17th Oct 2020). i never experience before this. is this an indication for pregnancy or period? i have regular period cycle of 32days. appreciate your confirmation. tq

We understand your concern on what is happening to you currently. For your information, brown discharge or what we called spotting is normal and it is more commonly seen if people who is on birth control, pregnant or sexually active.

Get through that time of the month comfortably without leak.

It is also could occur at any time of your cycle. It’s an old blood that never really leave your uterus for some time and it could be completely normal.

Common conditions when you can experience spotting in between your periods are:

  • Pregnancy; this is due to the implantation
  • Using birth control; process of getting accustomed with the hormonal changes in the body
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
