Confused about Malaria
Hi Doctor, please help to answer as following:-
- Malaria was called a disease or poison?
- What are the differences between disease and poison?
- Whether the Malaria can be called as a poison, since Malaria can occur if a mosquito infected with the Plasmodium Parasite bites?

Malaria is a serious disease that can be fatal if not diagnosed and treated quickly. Pregnant women, babies, young children and the elderly are particularly at risk. The Plasmodium falciparum parasite causes the most severe malaria symptoms and most deaths. It is a disease.
Disease is a disorder of structure or function in a human, especially one that produces specific symptoms or signs that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury. Meanwhile poison a substance that is capable of causing the illness or death of a living organism when introduced or absorbed.
Malaria is not a poison, malaria is caused by single-celled microorganisms of the Plasmodium group.
