Can I get vaccinated for COVID 19 if I have thyroid hormones disease?

My girlfriend that is in her 20s is currently ongoing medications for thyroid hormones diseases due still unstable hormones in her body. Can she receive vaccination for covid 19 when she has this sickness? The hormones as of now under medication is stable. If she’s able to take vaccination should she continue to take her medicine or is there any side effect of taking one of the vaccine such as Pfizer Moderna Sinovac?

Hello and good morning
Thank you for your question.

Based on your question, I understand that you are worry about your problem. I will try to help you.

For your information up till now, there are no research said that a person with thyroid hormone disease cannot get vaccinated. Covid 19 vaccine was approved by KKM and everyone is safe to be vaccinated. After the vaccination, your girlfriend may continue to take her medication as before.

Therefore, I advise you to refer to a doctor for a proper treatment. You can also have an online consultation with our doctors for more information and further treatments.

I hope this answer will help you. Thank you.
