Covid 19 post PCR test procedures
For close contact who have done swab test with negative result at private clinic, must he/she undergo home quarantine? If so, for how many days, from the day of pcr test obtained?
Is it neccessary to undergo 2nd swab test after 10/14 days confinement to get official health free from Covid19 before we can resume for duties?

Hi and thank you for asking us
Through the question and statement you gave on the above section, I completely understand your concern over this matter. For your information, a negative result means you are not infected during the time of your sample was collected. A second test should be done for confirmation as there is a possibility in which you were very early in your infection when your sample was collected and that you could test positive later. That is why you need to self-isolate in between your first and second test.
However, I do urge you to continue monitoring your health and please take necessary precautions to protect yourself from the virus.
These are the guidelines from the Centre of Disease Control (CDC):
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
