COVID-19 testing for all employees returning to work

Hi.

We have suggestion/proposal that for all employees to be tested before returning to work. My question :

  1. is it practical?
  2. there is 14 days incubation period for the virus. If we do it in the early stage of the infection (say within the first 2 or 3 days and not showing any symptom) will the results shows +ve?

Thanks.

Greetings!

Thank you for your question. This is an elective COVID-19. As government hospitals will not be handling this type of screening, you may need to refer to private hospitals. It is not an issue if you want to be extra safe in your working environment. However, you should take into account the consent from your employees. The virus may or may not be detectable in the early days after exposure due to the low viral load. Hence, false negative may be the result.

I hope this answers your question.
