For that reason, your doctor will tell you to stay home during the first few weeks of treatment, until you’re no longer contagious.

Tell your doctor right away if you have any of the following symptoms:

• fever for 3 or more days
• pain in the lower abdomen
• Itchiness/ rash/ skin discoloration
• Nausea /vomiting/ no appetite
• Tingling, burning, or numbness of the hands and feet
• fatigue
• Easy bruising or bleeding
