Greetings!

We understand your worries especially for having Crohn’s disease and Tuberculosis.

From your complaints, we suggest you to undergo the tuberculosis therapy first before the Chron’s disease treatment.

For your information, Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory disorder that can occur in any part of the gastrointestinal tract and can affect people of any age. Common symptoms include weight loss, diarrhoea and abdominal pain.

Take care of your digestive system

Tuberculous bacteria have been suggested as a possible cause of Crohn’s disease due to a similarity between Crohn’s and tuberculous lesions when viewed under a microscope. Prevention of relapse (recurrence of symptoms) is an important objective in the management of Crohn’s disease. There is no current treatment available that completely prevents relapse and is without significant side-effects.

Talk to a gastroenterologist to address your problems and get their expert opinion.

Anti-tuberculous therapy generally consists of combinations of antibiotic and antibacterial type drugs. It’s important to take every dose of your antibiotics. Don’t stop, even if you feel better. If you don’t kill all of the bacteria in your body, the remaining germs can adapt and become drug-resistant. If you have active TB of the lungs, you can infect other people. For that reason, your doctor will tell you to stay home during the first few weeks of treatment, until you’re no longer contagious.

Side Effects of Anti-Tuberculous Therapy:

Tell your doctor right away if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • fever for 3 or more days
  • pain in the lower abdomen
  • Itchiness/ rash/ skin discoloration
  • Nausea /vomiting/ no appetite
  • Tingling, burning, or numbness of the hands and feet
  • fatigue
  • Easy bruising or bleeding
