How to take the Mercilon contraceptive and any safety measures after the 7th day

I bought the mercilon contraceptive pill here but want to know how to take it. My period came on January 11 and stopped on January 16. It has been 7 days since I started taking the first mercilon pill on January 17 (never took any contraceptive pill). Can I start the same room without condoms on the 7th day? How effective are birth control pills? Also, if I take 21 pills of mercilon and stop for 7 days, do I need to take any safety measures when opening a new box and taking the first pill next month? Thank you.

Hi and thank you for asking us

Through the question and statement, you gave in the above section, I completely understand your concern over this matter.

How to take pills is as follows:

  • One strip contains 21 tablets and there is a day mark on each tablet, which is the day the tablet should be taken. This tablet should be taken daily at the same time according to the direction of the arrow on the strip.
  • After eating all 21 tablets, do not open the new pack for 7 days. Within 7 days of not taking this pill, you may experience menstruation or bleeding. Even if there is no pill intake in these 7 days, you are still protected from pregnancy. Although menstruation is still ongoing, you should start taking a new pack on the 8th day.
  • Usually, it is better to start taking the pills on the first day of menstruation as you will be protected from pregnancy immediately. If you start taking the pills at another time in your menstrual cycle, for the first 7 days of taking these pills you will still need to use other contraceptives such as condoms while waiting for these pills to act.
