Positive covid and vaccination

Hi Doctors, I’ve tested positive for covid on 10/5/2021. Just underwent home quarantine from 10/5/21 until 19/5/2021 (only mild simptoms which include headache, sore throat, loss both taste and smell senses). I did not take any medication during that period, only strepsil for my sore throat. After less than a month, all simptoms totally gone.

Question is, can I take vaccine on 8/7/2021? Just received my appointment date through mysejahtera.

Please advise. Thank you in advance.

Hello, thank you for your enquiry.

For your information, some degree of natural immunity is gained after infection with covid. However, it is uncertain how long this immunity might last, although reinfection appears uncommon within 6 months.

As for vaccination, it is still available after covid infection, yet only healthcare workers and women who are at risk are listed for the time being. Vaccination for other categories will be update soon.
The timing of vaccination recommended after COVID-19 infection is listed by MOH and currently it has decided to give vaccination for former Covid patients after 3-6 months.

For more information, you may refer to your doctor or call the CPRC line at 0388810200/60178429454 to confirm your appointment for vaccicnation.
