What to do during self quarantine?

I’ve been in contact with a P1. May i know during my quarantine period, can i go out to buy food wearing mask?

Greetings!

I understand your dilemma to prevent possible spread of COVID-19. According to a guideline for home quarantine published by Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • Avoid going out in public for 2 weeks.
  • You should be in a room by yourself and avoid contact as much as possible from the rest of the household members.
  • You should also have an access to a bathroom for your own use only. Monitor for development of any symptoms.
  • Prohibit unnecessary visits by people not living in your house.
  • Avoid contact with pets
  • Make sure that shared spaces has good ventilation
  • Maintain good hygiene like washing hands frequently and avoid touching eyes, mouth, nose with unwashed hands
  • Wear face mask when you are in the same room with other people. Do not reuse the face mask.
  • Avoid sharing household items with others, wash your clothes separately and thoroughly.
  • Wipe surfaces with disinfectants.
  • Dispose all face mask, disposable gloves and other contaminated items in a lined container before disposing them with other household waste.

To monitor your risks, you may answer this brief quiz (Evaluate Your Corononavirus Risk). You can also monitor for development of symptoms like:

  • Fever more than 37.5 degrees celcius.
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath

Thank you for your question.
