4 years since I had my period

I am a female in my early 20s, I haven’t been getting regular period since I first got them. During my high school years its not regularly but once every 2-3 months I would still get my period. I believe ever since I lost my mother, and I had to enter college, my period start to rarely come. The amount isn’t normal, its very little as well. Last I had my period till now was roughly 3-4 years back. I haven’t done any check ups with any doctors as I am afraid of the outcome as well as I am not sure which and what doctor am I suppose to visit. Kindly provide me advise in this matter. Many of my friends have told me to seek for medical health
