Back neck pain when looking upward

I am in my 20s, working with computers daily. Currently, have a good posture while working, however recently had notice this neck pain when looking upward. Its been more than 2 weeks and symptom seems not to fade. Which specialist should I see to diagnose or treat this issue? or is there anyway I can check it myself? Thank you

Hello, thank you for your enquiry.

For your information, neck pain can have a several causes, such as neck muscle strain if you maintain a fixed posture for a long period such as staring at the monitor without a headrest or neck support. The pain may be aggravated by head movements, allow it to rest and provide a neck support is a good solution.

Even so, there are other causes as well such as nerve impingement, cervical spine injury, inflammation of cervical joints, vascular disease and others.

In order to find out the cause for your symptoms, a more detailed history is needed, as well as a proper clinical examinations and relevant investigations. You are required to refer your problem to a doctor as soon as possible so that further work-up can be done. Then only the final diagnosis can be made and a proper treatment plan can be done for you.
