Hi Good evening Dr,
On 8th of May 2021 I was tested as positive Covid -19 I have been self quarantine at home for 10days and I get release letter from KKM as well. Just curious, should I have to do 2nd swap test to get negative ? Or it still shows as positive. How long do this virus will be remain in our body is it for 21days or 3 months ?

Good evening. Thank you for your question.
First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your symptoms and other health problems you might be facing. Normally, if you are said to have recovered from COVID-19 infection, it is not compulsory to do the second swab test. Most patients who have recovered still remain showing positive results over a long period of time, even after they are confirmed to have recovered. On top of that, about 30% to 40% of people will still test positive at three weeks, but that doesn’t mean they are contagious that entire time. Nevertheless, it can take weeks to months to test negative after testing positive for COVID-19.
