I wanted to know if I still transmit after infected COVID-19 for 14days

Hi Doctor , I infected Covid on 14th May. But I do my PCR test on 21st May and got my report on 22nd. I got no any symptoms till now. So my quarantine day is based on my infected day or the day I got my result? And this is the 14th days I got infected may I know I still transmit to others ?

Hello, thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand the problem you are currently experiencing. Based on your statement, a research found that former COVID-19 patients still can transmit the virus to others but the risk of transmission is low as the body develops immunity against the virus compared to during the incubation period which is highly contagious. Although the risk is low, you should adhere strictly to the practice of a good hand hygiene, maintain physical distancing and also wear mask whenever you go out.

For the quarantine period, it is based on when did you received your result and if it is positive or detected, your quarantine starts from that time onwards.

This is just our general description of your problem. If you have further questions, please contact us at (DoctorOnCall) to speak with our doctor in person. Thank you.
