My housemate on quarantine (Covid19)

Hi,

My housemates is currently under quarantine because of close proximity with one of people that positive Covid19. I have little cough (sore throat) but have been to clinic and taken medication - its currently getting better. Should I worry about this and if there is need to get tested for Covid19? What is the procedure for testing if I must go? Please advise.

Thank you.

Greetings!

Thank you for your question. I understand you are worried about having the COVID-19 infection due to your symptoms of cough and your housemate being under self-quarantine. Since you are not a direct contact of anyone positive for COVID_19, you do not have a high risk of getting the virus. Hence, you do not need to go for the testing at designated hospitals. Our government has limited resources, so they cannot test everyone for COVID-19, unless indicated. However, we do provide home testing services, accessible through this link: COVID-19 Screening At Home

You may consult a MOH doctor by clicking Ask Doctor at the Ministry of Health website (COVID-19 Portal) to ask any health issues related to COVID-19 starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

After 5.00 pm till 12.00 am, please direct your enquiries to our DoctorOnCall website at this link https://www.doctoroncall.com.my/tanya/.
