Greetings and thank you for contacting us.

Based on the statement, you are asking whether you can postpone your second dose of COVID-19 vaccination. We will try to help you.

Based on the latest information, the MOH & JKJAV recommend that the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine be given within 12 weeks after receiving the first dose. However, if this is not possible for some reason, you may request that the second dose be obtained as soon as possible or before you leave, to give you better long-term protection against the virus.

It is still not clear whether a delay in taking the second dose will affect the level of protection. However, a long delay increases a person’s exposure to COVID-19 infection.

Therefore, you are advised to refer this issue to the nearest hospital or vaccination centre as soon as possible.

You are also encouraged to speak with our doctor online in person for further information.

We hope this answer helps you. Thank you.
