Hypherthyroid & Covid-19 vaccine

Latest:
T4 result : 24
TSH result : less than 0.01

Is it safe for me to take vaccine?

Now I’m on Carbimazole & Propranolol. Before take medicine, my T4 is 29 & TSH also less than 0.01.

Hello, thank you for your enquiry.

For your information, your latest thyroid test results, T4 : 24 and TSH < 0.01, indicates that your hyperthyroidism has not yet been well controlled, your thyroid hormone is still high.

Based on the latest Covid vaccination guideline, Covid-19 vaccine is available for stabilized hyperthyroidism cases, and after reviewed by the respective in charge doctors.

Therefore, we recommend you not to take the Covid-19 vaccine prior to your doctor’s review. Please do contact and refer this matter to your doctor, ask for advices and when is the optimal timing for your Covid vaccination.

You may also contact our endocrinology specialist for an online consultation for further information and assistance.
