Hi doctor, I am positive asymptomatic covid-19. Now I am under quarantine. May I know is it possible for me to have the virus back after quarantine? because I heard some people who have taken their 2nd dose of vaccination suddenly got positive covid-19 after he/she taken the vaccine. I am concern, because some people said no need to follow the sop when everyone is already positive. So I just wondered and want to prevent any unwanted causes that might worsent the situation. Thank you
Greetings and thank you for contacting us.
This answer is a general description of the problem you are facing. Please click on this link (DoctorOnCall) to continue your inquiry with our doctor online.
For your information, those who have recovered from a viral infection (or specifically COVID-19) have automatically developed immunity to the COVID-19 virus strain. Therefore you are (theoretically) already free of infection and can no longer infect others. Please ask your doctor for confirmation.
However, based on the latest information, there are few cases of the phenomenon of reinfection of COVID-19 in former patients who have recovered. Although the mechanism of reinfection is not very clear, it is most likely caused by transmission from others infected with the COVID-19 virus or close contact with other positive patients. Therefore, it is very important for you and your family to follow the SOPs.
Based on JKJAV, COVID-19 vaccine can be given to individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 infection. Therefore, to find out in more detail about when and how you can get the vaccine you can also contact JKJAV or the Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CPRC).
