Missed folic acid for first trimestee
I am a 30 year old women who is pregnant for the third time. My 2 earlier pregnancies ended with a miscarriage. This pregnancy was a surprise and i just started taking folic acid after finding out. Around 4 weeks after first day of my last menstrual period. Will thefolic acid be an issue? Im quite worried.

Greetings! Thank you for your questions.
We truly understand your concern regarding this matter. For your information, folate is a form of the B vitamin folic acid. Folate is found naturally in some foods, such as leafy, dark green vegetables, citrus fruits and juices, and beans. It is never too late to start taking folic acid in pregnancy, If you have previously eaten healthy and nutritious foods, it is likely that the foods you consume also contain folate.
The thing is, it is unsure that eating folate would have the same benefits as getting the (synthetic) folic acid. Thus, women who can get pregnant should consume synthetic folic acid in addition to the natural food folate from a varied diet, that is to prevent child’s spina bifida.
