Autoimmune disease and Covid-19

I’m currently being treated for urticaria. Is urticaria a type of autoimmune disease? Will it be dangerous for me to continue taking urticaria medication during this Covid-19 outbreak? I’m working in essential service industry (which mean I still need to go to work during this MCO period) and both my office and house area are in the red-zone area.

Thank you for your questions.

First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns especially we’re now in the midst of coronavirus infection.

Urticaria is due to histamine release from the body in response to allergens or out of blue. The medication usually used to treat urticaria is antihistamine and it is not an immunosuppression, if that is what you worry about. Hence, it is safe to take.
